Founder
Dr. Gazal Bharara is the Founder and Director of DrWellbeing. She specializes in child and adolescent wellbeing, translating doctoral research into real-world practice. With a multifaceted career, Dr. Gazal brings a wealth of experience, working with parents, educators, and organizations to enhance wellbeing and positive transitions for children and adolescents.
With over a decade of collaboration with diverse stakeholders—including school professionals, organizations, and families—alongside her PhD and professional experience, Dr. Gazal offers unique insights into youth wellbeing. Skilled in consulting, professional speaking, strategic training, assessments, policy advising, and the development of impactful, comprehensive programs—with a focus on wellbeing education and positive school transitions—she delivers evidence-informed training, consulting, and wellbeing education across sectors.
Dr. Gazal is a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Alberta and a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta, reflecting her commitment to ethical, evidence-based practice. She is also a registered member of the Canadian Positive Psychology Association, underscoring her ongoing engagement with wellbeing science and positive psychology.
With prior experience as a school and counselling psychologist, Dr. Gazal has worked across diverse educational and family contexts, collaborating closely with school leaders, educators, and families. Her work has informed the design and delivery of evidence-based interventions and workshops that reduce behavioral and learning challenges and promote positive developmental and wellbeing outcomes. She brings particular expertise in special education, including supporting children with ADHD and learning disabilities, and has extensive experience training educators and parents in managing complex behavioral and learning needs.
In her current role, Dr. Gazal draws on this depth of professional and research experience to guide a comprehensive, evidence-informed approach through DrWellbeing. A published author with research featured in peer-reviewed journals, she remains committed to advancing positive, science-informed practices within DrWellbeing’s growing national and global reach.
